Chile

Come to Chile; a beautiful country made up of a string of mountains and volcanoes lining South America’s boarder. Its varied lures range from deserts, forests, volcanoes and lakes, to superb vineyards, to luxurious seaside resorts, to the vibrant city of Santiago.

Highlights

  • See beautiful San Pedro de Atacama. Tour Moon Valley and Death Valley to immerse yourself in the world's driest desert. Discover nature’s lunar-like sceneries and watch the sun stretch over miles of hazy horizons from the top of Piedra del Coyote.

  • Take a nighttime tour of the Atacama Desert for gorgeous views of star speckled skies.

  • Travel to Santiago, Chile’s capital located in a valley bordered by snow-capped mountains and the Chilean Coast Range. Ascend to the top of San Cristóbal Hill to see the iconic Virgin Mary statue, beautiful gardens, a zoo, and panoramic city views.

  • Wander through Santiago’s main square, Plaza de Armas. Discover Spanish colonial architecture mixed with modern buildings, palm trees, statues, fountains, and an elegant cathedral.

  • Travel to La Unión, Los Ríos Region to see Alerce Milenario in Monumento Alerce Costero. This ancient Alerce tree is the largest tree in the Valdivian temperate rainforest, and only grows in southern Argentina and Chile.

  • Explore Torres del Paine National Park; a place like no other located in Chile’s Patagonia region known for bright blue glaciers, clear waters, massive mountains, rugged cliffs, golden grasslands, and rare wildlife. This destination is for the explorers, as it requires driving, hiking, horseback riding, and boating to see its finest views. Plan to spend some time here to see all the park has to offer. Accommodations range from luxurious lodges, to modest rooms, to outdoorsy campsites.

Good to Know

  • The best time to visit southern Chile, including Torres del Paine National Park, is from October to April - though temperatures rarely rise above 68°F

  • Be prepared for various weather, including windy conditions
